Our suggestion is to request a quote and one of our experts will look at your state and notes to determine the best 2-3 fabrics. HarborTime Edge, Recsytem, Sunbrella Marine, SeaMark, and Stamoid Light are some the most popular fabrics.
HarborTime Edge works great because it's slight vinyl coating on each side gives it a slightly thicker feel and makes it very durable. It's also very water-resistant because of this coating, making it highly recommended in the midwest and areas with snow or a lot of rain. Some didn't like the slight shine to HarborTime Edge so we introduced Recsystem, an acrylic to our lineup. It has excellent water resistance while staying quite breathable.
Sunbrella Marine is also a very popular option because its breathability and beautiful look. This canvas-like acrylic fabric is known for lasting a very long time and gives your peace of mind knowing with its breathability mold and mildew will not be a problem.
SeaMark and Stamoid Light are both amazing waterproof fabrics commonly used in custom covers for high-end outdoor furniture.
Yes, they are very easy to clean. If something like tree sap or bird droppings is a concern, we would suggest something like HarborTime Edge or Stamoid Light, which have a vinyl coating and makes it easier to clean.
For questions on how to clean yours, refer to our resource center which has fabric specific cleaning guides for every common fabric we use.
We do offer waterproof fabric options like Recwater, SeaMark, and Stamoid Light.
When you cut and sew these fabrics, you compromise the waterproofness. We have developed a seam sealing process for all covers made from a waterproof material that helps keep water out. In our 25+ years of business this seam sealing has worked great.
With that being said no cover is 100% waterproof however we do everything we can to prevent water from getting through our waterproof covers.
For waterproof fabrics that lack breathability, mesh vents are added to the skirt to promote air circulation. Other water-resistant fabrics that lack breathability will also get these mesh vents. Fabrics like Sunbrella Marine and WeatherMax 80 allow the cover to breathe and naturally prevent mold and mildew.
External velcro straps and internal buckle straps are the most popular for fastening these covers. While internal buckle straps can only be used when the furniture legs are exposed, it is one of the most secure fastening options.
Additional options include shockcord drawstring and sand bags for extra fastening. Sand bags are commonly placed on the inside corner of the section cover, a common place for wind to get under.
