How Buckle Straps Work
Buckle straps use a durable strap with an adjustable buckle to pull a cover tight against the item it protects. They're a go-to fastener for larger and heavier covers, and they secure in two main ways depending on what's being covered. The most common is the belt loop buckle strap, where loops are sewn around the skirt of the cover and the buckle strap feeds through them and tightens. This works on virtually any rectangular item like outdoor kitchens, sofas, daybeds, and more. For pieces you can't wrap a strap around, like an L-shaped sectional, the strap instead passes underneath the item from front to back. As long as there's access beneath the piece, this creates a very secure hold.
Wind Protection
By clinching the cover tight against the item, buckle straps are some of the best wind protection of any fastening option.
Adjustable & Versatile
The adjustable buckle lets you dial in how tight you want the cover to be. From a simple rectangular cover to an irregular shape, buckle straps are a great way to secure your cover.
Belt Loop Buckle Straps for Outdoor Kitchens
Belt loop buckle straps are one of the fastening options we build into our custom outdoor kitchen covers, and they’re an ideal choice for rectangular freestanding islands. The strap threads through sewn loops and tightens with a buckle, pulling the cover snug against the island so it stays put in wind.
Because every cover we make is custom, we can position these straps exactly where your island needs them for a secure, tailored fit. For long linear runs especially, belt loop buckle straps keep the cover from shifting or lifting, a common problem for large covers.
